2005
Mevea was born!
Mevea (Mechatronic and Virtual Engineering Applications) was founded in 2005 by a team of 7 researchers working in the field of mechatronics and real-time simulation from Lappeenranta University of Technology.
2007
First Global Customer
After two years of developing the real-time simulation software, Mevea started long-lasting cooperation with Sandvik, the first global customer. The initial project included Sandvik’s loader and drill rig simulation models.
2008
Building Towards International Markets
In 2008 the company was already growing internationally thanks to the first large cabin simulator being delivered to Kalmar for training purposes in Brazil. At the time, all assembly work was performed in-house.
2011
Awarded for Innovative Products
The national Innofinland Prize of the President of the Republic was awarded to Mevea on November 29, 2011:
“New generation’s product development simulator. The solution reduces the need for prototypes as the products are developed to a greater degree of completion in a virtual environment.”
2012
Real-time Hydraulics Simulation
Simulators for mining machinery are an important part of Mevea’s business. In 2012 Mevea delivered simulators of concrete praying and scaling machines to Normet. These simulators included real-time hydraulic simulation and configurable control system integration which are some of the unique capabilities of Mevea simulators.
2015
The First Digital Twin was Launched
In 2015 Mevea delivered the very first full-fledged Digital Twin to Mantsinen Group. This is a very advanced simulator of Mantsinen material handler including the real-time simulation of sophisticated hydraulic system and integration with Mantsinen machine control hardware and software.
2018
Partnering with Siemens
Mevea partners with Siemens. Mevea was selected based on both the accuracy of its real-time simulation software and the ability to seamlessly integrate with Siemens SIMOCRANE technology platform, producing Digital Twins capable of simulating the behavior and use of real cranes.
